Launch of a new call for projects between Gaznat and EPFL

Gaznat and EPFL have a long-standing strategic collaboration, which consists of developing a center of expertise around the development of new sources of renewable energy, in liquid or gaseous form.

A new framework agreement was signed in December 2024, to allow for the launch of new calls for projects.

The new Gaznat-EPFL research program will support two categories of projects: “exploratory” projects aimed at setting up prototypes that can be concretely deployed within Gaznat's Innovation Lab, and “seed” projects aimed at describing and characterizing promising technologies that could be developed to reach a higher TRL level.

The Gaznat-EPFL research program will support projects in the following thematic areas:

-Advanced separation technologies
-Production of synthetic and renewable gases and liquids
-Energy efficiency
-Energy storage
-CO2 capture, utilization, and storage
-Impact of various molecules on confinement materials
-AI in energy
-Other topics deemed as pertinent by the Scientific Committee.

The first call is now open, and proposals can be submitted until August 21, 2025.

Detailed information about the application guidelines are available on the EPFL website.
